Ex-rugby star 'floored' by coronavirus

Former Scotland scrumhalf Rory Lawson has issued a timely reminder that younger people can also contract the coronavirus after his temperature shot up to 38.8 degrees as he battled Covid-19 in quarantine for a week.

According to the Stuff website, Lawson - the grandson of late, great broadcaster Bill McLaren - said he had suffered and was left and unable to smell or taste anything.

Now a freelance sports broadcaster, Lawson played professional rugby for Edinburgh, Gloucester and the Newcastle Falcons before retiring in 2013.

He earned 31 Scotland caps between 2006 and 2010 and played at the 2007 Rugby World Cup tournament in France and the 2011 edition in New Zealand.
